Rylee, the Zoo and Detroit Tigers!

Last weekend we went to Detroit to visit our friends Brian, Crystal and Aubrey. It was a much needed weekend get away, and it did us well! We haven't seen them in quite some time so it was nice to finally get down there! It was quite and eventful weekend with a trip to the zoo on Saturday and the Detroit Tigers game on Sunday! Every Sunday is Kids Day at the ballpark, and this Sunday that also happened to be doing "Photos on the field" before the game. We were able to all go down on the field and take pics with the players, give hi-fives, shake hands, whatever...so that was pretty cool! Players from the Detroit Tigers came around for about an hr before the game, Rylee loved it until Dontrel Willis came around and he was going to take him out of my arms(it's ok) to get a pic with him and Rylee wasn't havin' that (see pic below) Ryan seems to think it's because he is thinkin he's getting over payed for his performances, but as of late he's been doin pretty well! Go figure! :) Our friends Jenny and her lil boy Cameron also came down with us and stayed in our hotel room with us~Cameron will be 3 in July, and they absolutly love eachother to pieces! Rylee absolutly adores him and they have a riot together! It went pretty well, Rylee is the the one that wanted to have a lil' party all night, but eventually he gave in. He kept standing up in his pac n' play saying "UT OH".....right, go to bed! :)
As of lately he is getting busier and busier by the day, but still a reallly good lil' man! He repeats next to EVERYTHING that is said. He thinks that anything remotely close to a circle is a "ball". Loves loves loves water and bubbles. He knows most every part of his body (has for quite some time) His walking has now turned into a run, and he's OBSESSED with shoes. Especially mine and Ryans's. It's almost impossible to get him inside unless we mention the word "snack" or "eat", he loves being outside! The camping season will soon be underway and we can't wait to see what he thinks of it all! I can imagine it will be quite busy, we'll see how it goes! Our first camping trip is scheduled for the 2nd weekend in June. More to come.....

A trip to Cincinnati

Where have I been?! Bad Blogger!!! We went to Cincinnati the first weekend of May to see our friends Donald and Kim! They keep moving closer and closer and we are ecstatic! The same weekend we also had a Kentucky Derby party at their house, and what a riot that was! Rylee did pretty well on the car ride, didn't really sleep much AT ALL, but still did pretty good. He slept really well there in his lil' pack and play, u wouldn't have known that we were anywhere different! He got the cutest lil' horse from "Aunt Kim and Uncle Donald" on the day of the derby party, it was a gathering for all ages(kinda) :)
On Saturday we took Rylee Bona to the aquarium in Newport and he loved that too! He was walking through the tunnel that had sharks and sting-rays swimming over the top of him, he was going crazy! Seriously brings tears to my eyes when I just watch him enjoy even the littlest things in life! So to see him at the zoo or at the aquarium or at a baseball game, give me great joy in knowing that he appreciates all that life has to offer! I know we sure do!

To my son's birthmother,

I want to take this day to reflect on what a bitter sweet day today is. It's Mother's Day! It makes me sad to know that a day so incredible for me, is a day that makes your heart ache. I want you to know that your son is truley the most amazing blessing! I know it wasn't in your plans, I know that you really did do everything in your power to care for your children, and I know that having him taken out of anything that he has ever known wasn't your number one plan. But what I want you to know is that this little boy is the most amazing child and I am thankful for the gift of Rylee Bona! He is the best Mother's Day present a mother could ask for! And today I want to share this day with you, I don't want him for a single second to forget who you are, how much you loved him or forget where he came from. I wonder everyday where this beaming smile comes from, who he got this silly personality from or his pure sweetness! I can only hope that someday, somehow, some way we are able to show him to you, and u can tell him exactly how much u cared!

Love,
Meggan
