Salt and Sand

Nothing, Nothing, NOTHING like a family vacay to the Jersey Shore.

I grew up going on vacation with my family to Ocean City, NJ since I was 10 years old.  The sudden smell of the salty, ocean water as you pull into the resort town,  the first site of the boardwalk as you walk up the street, the huge ferris wheel you can spot from a mile away, Johnson's FRESH carmel corn pouring out of the buckets, bicycles, bicycles, and more bicycles.  And it always is so much easier to get up and do your morning runs/walk before the sun rises while you're on vacation-especially when you can get up and go do it on the boardwalk.

Our drive TO New Jersey began around 9pm and we had the "best" plan to drive through the night, so the kiddos could sleep in the car-after 3 hours in Rylee got an upset stomach and his dinner was all over the front of him, i chuckled to myself before waking Ryan and phoning Beth to let her know we needed to pull over, was this "just" happening to me while everyone else is sound asleep in the car?! Yep. Sure was. I was surprisingly calm and did ok with it-besides if it's going to happen what better place to dispose of the nasty-ness than in OHIO!?

It's been a LONG time since our WHOLE family was together on vacation! My heart was so full, I just wish the 10 days didn't go so fast!  It was such a blessing to be able to take the kiddos to the place where we had all grown up going......

Our first few days were spent at my Aunt and Uncle's home for our cousin's graduation party (CANNOT believe she has graduated, I remember playing with her when she was only 3 years old on the beach in Ocean City, how did THAT happen already?!)  They threw a wonderful party, and then we were off for 6 wonderful days at the shore! We miss it already, and cannot wait to go back.  The kiddos absolutly LOVED it!!!
