Home opener tailgate with friends! Here we are! Goodness, so much for being the best blogger on the block! It's been awhile-and I feel like i have let way too much time go by without doing a good job of documenting our daily lives, and what's been going on.
Rylee is continuing to be our lil' ham. His personality is out of this world, and Ryan said it perfectly the other day "You never have a bad day when you come home to Rylee"....now, we are not by any means saying we have the worlds most pefect child (though i will argue, that it's pretty close), but this lil' boy makes you forget all of the craziness of everyday life. I think that's what children are meant to do. He makes us see the important things in life, we have learned a lot lately about family, life, priorities and most importantly ourselves and the life that the 3 of us have together-and our priorities are just that, Ryan, myself and Rylee! There have definitly been situations the last few weeks that have made us take a step back and really appreciate what we have. A new appreciation for ourselves, eachother and different friends and family. But in the mix of it all-Rylee is happy, oblivious to all of the chaos and that molds us all together! We are definitly different people, and I think a lot has changed once we came home from Ethiopia, sounds cliche, but that's exactly how it happened. It took a whole country to change us, but I truley believe that's why we have become the people that we have, some may not understand that and that's fine. Now, don't get me wrong-we all like material things to a point, that's in our culture, our nature....but there are definitly lots that has changed in regards to that.
Now back to our Mr.Rylee. He is talking up a storm, still loves sports, and when i say LOVE-i mean PASSIONATE....Ryan took him to an MSU football game the other night and in the middle of the night, he woke up and Ryan heard him say "Go State"....(poor thing).....He still is doing the "Let's Go Tigers" chant-I will have to get that on video-sometimes he adds his own names into it "Let's Go Mama" or "Let's Go Daddy"....funny stuff. His "new" thing lately is telling on people...
Rylee: "MOM, Daddy's not bla bla bla my um, um, bla bla bla sippy cup"
Me: "Oh, Daddy wont get your sippy cup for you"
Rylee: "Yeah"
Haha....vise versa, when one of isn't doing something, or telling him no-the other one will for sure be hearing about it....He's taking a music class through Michigan State University now with about 9 other families. Lots of singing/dancing/drums/etc....he is IN LOVE! He has a friend that lives nearby also from Ethiopia that is also in his class-they have a riot together! This winter I think we're going to enroll him into gymnastics, just to get out a little bit this winter-as you all know, last winter I thought I was about to lose it...so hopefully there will be some things that get us through the brutal season here in Michigan!
We're working on colors-he thinks everything is BLUE....hmmm
He loves to sing songs
Loves "Hip Hop Harry", "Little Bill", "Wonder Pets" and "Elmo"
Tries singing the alphabet, and counting, doing much better with the counting
That's about all right now. Lovin' the fall season, however what comes after it is not something we look forward to. Happy Fall to ya'll!!!!
