It's not always perfect! : )

Today's visit to the grocery store is one for the books. I knew I was taking a risk by heading there AFTER getting Rylee from preschool. Why didn't I go before so I only had ONE child to take with me.  Well, heck who cares-that wouldn't have mattered-Rylee was a sweet boy while Ezzie decided that Kroger was NOT the place for her at 11:45 today, right before lunch.  Ezzie is our lil' diva girl.  If Ezzie is over it, most likely she is going to convince all of us we're over it too.
It started after about 7 minutes in. She hated the cart, she hated my keys, she was not a fan of the Beaners card I tried to let her hold, the plastic bag that you put meat or produce in, and she definitly didn't care for the strangers in her face trying to "cheer her up".  Love your effort people, but if you see a crying baby with snot coming down her nose, into her mouth and tears streaming down her cheeks with a mom trying to get her 4 year old to "keep up" so we can hurry and get outta the store-just smile and keep walking....finally i just needed buns, one more thing and we were off, outta the door! Ezzie was having a fit as I was making the final turn down aisle 1 when i caught eyes with Therese, the florist at Kroger we know-she offered up balloons to them she blew Rylee up a blue one and Ezzie up a pink one. From far away Ezzie LOVED it and was shouting "balloon, balloon"(in her sweet ezzie vocabulary) while pointing, then when the lady came up to hand it to her she about jumped outta the cart again-I should have just finshed up, grabbed my buns like I needed and woulda been outta there 6 minutes faster and one less crying episode.  Soooo, we managed to calm her down from that one, that however was after now my shirt sleeve was covered with snot from wiping her nose, because WHAT MOTHER brings the diaper bag in on a QUICK shopping trip?! That would be silly....**SIGH** and after Ezzie snuggled into my shoulder she let out a big snort from her nose, it was then that i pulled her face toward mine to look at me  and there was there a string of snot coming from her nose that had already started crusting on my shirt......I looked at Therese (the kind florist lady that we know) and said "Never did I think this would be MY life" and she said "Yes you did-and you couldn't wait for this to be your life".....
I finally was able to stroll off to grab my buns, and we ran into Miss Kami, well Ezzie hated her today too. SHOCKER. So, we calmed her down again-ALL I WANTED WAS TO GRAB MY BUNS-hamburger buns to be exact-but in the meantime Ezzie warmed up to the idea of the balloons, was loving them actually. Rylee was holding hers and Kami was ever so kind to tie them to his wrist so he wouldn't let go of them....we finally checked out and we were ON OUR WAY OUTTA THE STORE....finally!!! But before we could make it safely to the van Rylee says "UT-OH MOM" and is pointing at the ceiling, those magic balloons came from his wrist and floated up out of our reach.  I looked at my poor lil' buddy who was so good  and explained they were staying there.  It's a good thing the WHOPPERS that I purchased for him in the check out line was enough to keep him at bay, and Ezzie, well she forgot about the balloons and was happy to be just with her mommy and Rylee off to eat lunch ; )
So, Therese is right-I couldn't wait for this to be my life, I just ask God for the patience during trips to the grocery store at lunch time!
